The Copwatch will begin at 5 PM at Pacific down from Soquel St. in front of Borders Bookstore in Downtown Santa Cruz. At 6:30 PM, we'll move to Santa Cruz City Hall at 809 Center St. across from the Main library.

Supporting the right of everyone to use public spaces that have lately been the target of police harassment and surveillence (as well as the removal of benches--here in front of Borders and up the street in front of Kianti's).

Documenting police treatment of folks on the street.

Signing up people to protest the anti-homeless downtown ordinances and to volunteer to help with future Copwatch as well as the Copwatch blog.

Marching (wandering, skipping, singing) over to City Hall at 6:30 PM for hot soup.

Oral Communications on any subject not involving the ordinances at 7 PM ("Two Minute Mathews", the Mayor, will probably restrict public comment again to two minutes).

Immediately afterwards, the only subject on the agenda is the final vote on the Downtown Ordinances where the community should have 3 minutes apiece to speak, and organizations 5 minutes, but Mathews last time cut it down to 2 minutes for individuals. Be ready to be brief and to the point.

The meeting could be as brief as 15 minutes or take as long as 3 hours depending on whether the merchant and resident associations mobilize their NIMBYtons.
